About Me

Dylan Thomas is a senior at Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, New Jersey, with a passion for music, service, and leadership. Inspired by the power of music to bring comfort and connection to older adults, he founded The Thomas Trio, a youth-led musical outreach initiative that brings live viola performances to residents of nursing homes and hospice centers across seven U.S. states and Ireland.

A lifelong musician, Dylan has performed more than 400 Sunday Masses with the St. Catharine–St. Margaret Parish Orchestra and remains active in his school's music program, where he founded Christian Brothers Academy's first Chamber Strings ensemble. He was also recognized as the Performing Arts Department's Most Improved Underclassman.

Academically, Dylan is a Presidential Scholar at Christian Brothers Academy and enjoys exploring subjects ranging from public policy and entrepreneurship to history and mathematics through college-level coursework and summer programs.

Beyond the classroom, Dylan is an Eagle Scout and recipient of the Congressional Award Gold Medal, recognizing his commitment to community service, personal development, physical fitness, and adventure. He also founded the CBA Eagles, a student organization that promotes leadership and service while organizing initiatives such as school-wide calculator and textbook drives benefiting students in Africa.

Dylan serves as lead attorney for Christian Brothers Academy's Mock Trial team, mentors three freshmen through the school's Big Brother program, and was selected to represent his school at American Legion Jersey Boys State. Among more than 800 delegates, he was elected Town Mayor and State Senator before being appointed Director of Homeland Security by the Boys State Governor.

This summer, Dylan is interning at the New Jersey district office of Congressman Chris Smith as one of the office's only high-school-age staff members. In this role, he manages constituent communications, assists with casework, and coordinates with federal agencies in Washington, D.C., to help residents navigate government services.

Dylan is also a dedicated volunteer with The People's Pantry, where he designed and launched the nonprofit's first website, helping expand donor outreach and volunteer engagement. He continues to support pantry operations while volunteering at the University of Notre Dame's Family Volunteer Camp, where he has contributed more than 75 hours over three summers serving local nonprofit organizations in South Bend, Indiana.

Outside of school and service, Dylan enjoys reading, weightlifting, poker, and mahjong. He lives in Spring Lake, New Jersey, with his parents, younger sister, and younger brother.
