During the summer of 2026, Dylan served as a congressional intern in the district office of Congressman Chris Smith, representing New Jersey’s 4th Congressional District. He assisted constituents with inquiries and casework, communicated with federal agencies, researched legislative and policy issues, and prepared memos, briefings, and background materials for staff. He also managed high-volume constituent communications and supported office operations, events, and briefings while monitoring policy developments and issues affecting the district.

As his final internship project, Dylan wrote a 16-page research paper titled “The Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019: An Analysis of U.S. Foreign Policy in Hong Kong and Its Relationship with China.” The paper examines the Act's origins, provisions, and implementation, while analyzing its role in U.S. policy toward Hong Kong and the broader strategic and diplomatic relationship between the United States and China.
